Amanda Brown has been composing for stage and screen since 2000. Her feature film credits include Kings of Mykonos, Monkey Puzzle, Son of a Lion, Look Both Ways and Somersault. In the last few years, she has also composed the music for many ABC documentaries, most notably Divorce Sharia Way, A Law Unto Himself, Accentuate the Positive, Dancing With The Prime Minister, which won her the Best Australian Composer at the 2011 WOW Awards and Sidney Nolan; Mask and Memory, for which she won the 2009 APRA/AGSC Award for Best Music in a Documentary.
Prior to her composition career, she was a multi-instrumentalist in several bands, best known as a member of cherished Australian independent band the Go-Betweens, with whom she toured the world and recorded two albums, Tallulah and 16 Lovers Lane. Brown has also recorded and performed with artists including R.E.M., silverchair, The Vines, Youth Group, Josh Pyke, The Church, David Bridie and Toni Collette and the Finish.
