Eduardo Cossio : Associate Artist

Eduardo Cossio (b. 1982) is a Peruvian-Australian musician and visual artist. Based in Perth/Boorloo since 2005, he has led his own bands and written music film, dance, and inter disciplinary productions. His work spans songwriting, notated chamber pieces, experimental composition, and sound improvisation.
Originally self-taught guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Eduardo graduated with an Honours in Composition & Music Technology at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2017. He has since developed a distinctive electro-acoustic practice using zithers, vocals, harmonica, electronics. This approach is best exemplified in his solo album, Citadels (Tone List, 2025).


Eduardo maintains collaborations with leading West Australian musicians such as Ross Bolleter, Josten Myburgh, and Sage Pbbbt. He has also collaborated closely with national and international artists including Annette Krebs, Axel Dörner, Mattias Müller, Emilio Gordoa, Sabine Vogel, Alice Hui Shen Chang, Gabriella Smart, Laura Altman, Tina Stefanou, and Jim Denley. Eduardo has performed widely across Australia, Europe, Taiwan and Singapore.
He is a prolific organiser, broadcaster, and writer in the Perth community. He runs Outcome Unknown an experimental music series; presents Difficult Listening on RTRFM92.1; and his writing has appeared on local and national art magazines including UnMagazine, SeeSaw Mag, RealTime Arts, ADSR and Resonate Magazine. He has received the West Australian Music Industry Award for experimental music on several occasions, and was nominated Industry Representative of the Year in 2018.

As a visual artist, Eduardo works across photography, video, performance, and social practice projects. His work has been the subject of three solo exhibitions and has commissioned by the Geraldton Regional Art Galleries, State Library of WA, DADAA Inc, Tone List, and the Perth Centre for Photography.
