Sounding the Winds - an Aeolian performance event for kite and real-time electroacoustics. The movements of a kite in the wind are analysed and transmitted via Bluetooth to generate an electroacoustic soundscape. (Electrofringe, Newcastle 2005)

Singing up Stones - electroacoustic soundscape, slides and video projection on the Sydney Opera House sails and Harbour Bridge pylon (in collaboration with artist Lisa Anderson, 1998).

Sydney Sound Walk - a gently processed acousmatic soundwalk through Sydney (selected by the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology symposium 2003 and released by Move Records on the Hearing Place CD).

Reconstruction and performance of Percy Grainger's Free Music works for Theremins (in collaboration with sound artist Ros Bandt at Percy Grainger Museum/Electric Eye Festival Melbourne, October 1998.)

This is just a taste of Sydney-based sound artist Jon Drummond's creative works. Using a range of media including electroacoustics, live electronics, multimedia and the internet, his work is an extensive exploration of how sound and technology intersects.

Drummond's computer music and installation work has been presented at various Australian and international festivals and galleries including the International Computer Music Conferences (Denmark 1994, Canada 1995, Greece 1997, China 1999, Singapore 2003). Recent collaborations with Nigel Helyer, Norie Newmark, Sarah Waterson and Kate Richards have been shown at ISEA Festival 2004 and ACME Exhibitions 2005.

His music has also been presented on the d>ART02 dLux media arts national sound program on Alchemy Radio SBS, Sound Spaces sonic art gallery (at the Totally Huge New Music Festival Perth WA), on 4ZZZ Radio Brisbane and at the Darwin International Guitar Festival.

Many of his acoustic and electronic compositions have been commissioned and performed by leading performers and ensembles around the country including Australysis, The Song Company, Ros Dunlop and Kathleen Gallagher. He was also a member of the electroacoustic performance group watt, and has toured Australia and Japan with John Encarnacao as the live electronic improvising project pi.
