Pamela Jordan : Associate Artist

Photo of Pamela Jordan

Born in 1957 in Queensland, Australia, Pamela received early lessons in piano from age 7. The lessons were sporadic due to the transience of teachers. However by the age of 10, she experimented with and explored pop music albums - playing from cover to cover. It was a musically rich time.

She was fuelled by her curiosity to discover how the music was written, and naturally became fluent in improvising, and using the patterns, and hearing the chord changes. Her appreciation for The Beatles began early.

Excelling in music theory exams as a teenager showed her aptitude and love for it. Composing had captured her heart.

Completing flute and theory exams to grade 6 AMEB with distinction, meant she had a solid musical foundation.

Later she completed an academic music degree majoring in flute and piano, before going on to be a classroom music specialist in Primary and Secondary schools.

Being an emerging composer now means Pamela is exploring and discovering her 'voice'.

At this time, she is focussed on her strengths - writing mostly for flute and piano - writing in a way that supports classroom and instrumental teachers
…. Teachers, let me know what you need!
