Moving to London, he took up the position of composer-in-residence with the Lumiere and Son Theatre Company, writing scores and musically directing a number of works. One of these works, Brightside, an electroacoustic experimental dance/theatre piece, won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1986.
