Wendy Morrissey was born in 1926 in Melbourne, went to school at Methodist Ladies' College, Kew, and studied violin at the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music, taking out her degree in 1950.

She was involved in the first National Music Camps, leading the orchestra for two years.

Teaching violin and classroom music at various schools occupied a number of years, as well as marriage and family responsibilities. After retiring from some of these activities, more time was available for composition and other interests. Vocal and choral music ranging from children's songs and operettas to a capella choral works, as well as instrumental music, mostly for strings, includes light-hearted as well as serious approaches.

Wendy passed away on the 19th Feb 2005.
