Aidan Charles Rosa : Associate Artist

Aidan Charles Rosa is a Sydney-based emerging composer with a vivid interest in contemporary music, both Classically and Popularly inspired. Rosa's music has a background in post-minimalism but also draws a great deal from a diversity of genres and styles. In addition to their broad palette of stylistic influence, Rosa has a special interest in re-contextualising the esoteric mysticism of the Renaissance and Enlightenment into dynamic and engaging musical contexts. Rosa has worked with the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, several Sydney-based orchestras, and has a close artistic relationship with Spiral, the latter of whom performed the artist's 2018 major work: Metalworks. In 2017, Rosa's Kazimir^3 received an international premiere by MCME in Moscow, where it was performed alongside other works by both established and emerging international composers. Rosa has completed a Bachelor in Music, from which they graduated with first-class honours and the Horace Keats award for composition. Having since completed a Master of Music, Rosa is currently undertaking a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
