Laura Tiong : Associate Artist
- Laura Tiong's qualifications include Master of Music in Piano
Pedagogy (USQ) and Bachelor of Music with Honours and Distinction
in Piano Performance (U of Iowa, USA). She is a professional
Piano Teacher and Collaborative Pianist based in Brisbane. She is
also a Professional Member of QMTA and AGQ, and holds a Blue Card
since 2008. In recent years, Laura has had the privilege of
serving as the President of AGQ and as one of the Founding
Associates of AGCP, in addition to her appointment as a Piano
Teacher/ Accompanist position at NECOM, Armidale (2024).
As the Founder of Purple Tree Piano Tuition since 2010, Laura has nurtured many students of different ages and levels which led to excellent results in AMEB piano examinations. As a Professional Collaborative Pianist, she has been actively accompanying for examinations, auditions and public recitals in Chamber Music, besides accompanying Community Choirs such as Chantefique French Choir and recently, the Apollo Male Choir.
Laura is also a gifted composer who wrote piano solo pieces for close friends and families. Her style of composition is inspired by Church / Inspirational Music and the pedagogical repertoire of her students. She believes in writing music which moves the hearts of her listeners/ audience. Thus, her music is generally expressive and beautiful, though short and sweet.
Besides spending time with her music, she also likes photography, travelling and watching movies.
