Louise Welsh : Associate Artist

In 2026 Louise Welsh's composition, "Mirage" for flute and piano,
has been selected for recording and distribution as part of the
"March of the Women Global call". Eliza Sheppard (flute) and
Peter de Jager (piano) will be the recording artists for its
release in December 2026.
Louise's Recorder Consort Music, "Park Suite", "Robbin'" and "Üt
Equus", is published by Orpheus Music.
In 2016 "Raqad" for Orchestra was premiered by Beecroft Orchestra
conducted by Dr. Joanna Drimatis.
In 2017 Trinity Grammar School commissioned her to compose "The
sun never says", for choir and String Ensemble.
She has written several works for HSC music performance:-
"Fledgling" for piano solo, or violin and piano
"Mirage" for flute and piano, or solo violin and chamber
group
"Raqad", "Elusive", and "Reflections" for cello and piano
"3 Characterisations from Commedia dell 'arte" for piano
Her songs: "Reflections", "Pete's song" and "If there is no-one"
were premiered in 2022 at the Sydney Conservatorium Art Song
Festival by Tanith Bryce (soprano) and Louise Welsh (piano).
After completing Advanced Piano Performance studies in London at
the Royal Academy of Music and Repetiteur studies at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama Louise moved to Sydney in
2000.
She works as a freelance accompanist and piano teacher at private
schools and at her home studio in Stanmore.
Louise has studied composition with Matthew Hindson and Paul
Stanhope.
