SYDNEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Town Hall, August 20
Toru Takemitsu, who died in 1996, was the Japanese composer of

restrained, poetic, glinting art in its latest 20th-century
program, appropriately employing a Japanese conductor, Hiroyuki
Iwaki, to direct the proceedings.
