Chant, worship, meditation, rituals, and great religious architecture are inspirations for this diverse program taking us from the cinematic textures of STEPHEN MELILLO to the divine hymn O Magnum Mysterium. DAVID POLAIN leads this diverse program that explores spiritual music from a secular perspective as ANDREW PENROSE joins us as soloist on DAVID MASLANKA’S virtuosic Marimba Concerto, a Bach-inspired fantasy and Australian Premiere. DAVID JOHN LANG’S Surprised by Joy closes the program in a celebration of true joy.
