Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe has been commissioned to write a new work for string orchestra as part of the SCM's 101 Compositions for 100 Years project. His life-long concern with landscape is well known, and in this lecture he will reflect on writing music at a time when the world is fast reaching a critical point in respect to our future survival, unless we act on climate change.
