Event Details
The great repertoire for brass begins at St Mark’s in 16th century Venice, where Giovanni Gabrieli learned that nothing thrills an audience in a great acoustic like a beautifully balanced brass choir. Five hundred years later composers are still enthralled by the glorious sounds that only a brass ensemble can produce. James Sommerville, Principal Horn for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, leads this feast of old and new brass.
