An Argentinian tango and Hungarian folk tunes will bookend this viola recital, which will also feature a work written by the performer.
"This recital features a piece I have always wanted to play, the Kodály Serenade, and a piece I never knew I liked, the Piazolla Le grand tango. In the middle of these two works is a piece of my own, written a number of years ago but never performed in Australia. I think this piece highlights some of my musical interests from a time in my life where I was moving from composing towards performing more regularly, but it also provides an introspective respite in between two very energetic and outspoken works."
