Event Details
Arise is an innovative and eclectic new concert which merges the instruments of rock music with Chronology’s core ensemble of viola, cello, piano and woodwind instruments. The opportunity to work with rock instruments has inspired the young composers involved to think of their sound on a different level. It’s not often that chamber music includes such instruments so this is a rare opportunity for them to combine their craft to sounds that are more familiar to contemporary ears. Audiences can expect eclectic interpretations of rock music and creative uses of electronic instruments, paired with the elevated energy of traditional chamber music.
Featured non-Australian music: New work by King-Pan Ng [Hong Kong] and Alexandra Hay [New Zealand]
