Imagine fifty spirited classical musicians. They unanimously adore the music and the stage; the atmosphere has harmony and colour, energy and brilliance.
Enriching the exquisite sounds and precious elegance of their 18th century period instruments is the grand music of the Baroque. The speed will be fast, the precision and control breathtaking. This 25th anniversary opening concert will be stunning. The music of J.S. Bach, one of the greatest composers of all time, with Elena Kats-Chernin’s vivacious homage to Bach, along with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and the Brandenburg Choir under Paul Dyer’s leadership.
Millions of people around the world listened to the extraordinary music of the Sydney Olympic Games opening ceremony written by Elena Kats-Chernin. It was glorious and glittering and we have invited Elena to compose a work commemorating our 25th anniversary in which the Orchestra and Choir will shine.
A spectacular start to the 2014 season and a perfect way to celebrate our 25th year.
