Event Details
Australian Voices presents spoken words collected around Australia, curated alongside a showcase of contemporary works by Graduate uprising composers, and performed by iconic Australian ensemble and artists Arcadia Winds, Gemma Kneale, Evan Setiawan, Danae Killian and collaborating guests. From fast shifting shapes, expansive landscapes to poetic laments, this concert’s programming is a musical journey inspired by profound connections between the interconnectedness of humanity and our Australian natural landscapes, as well as how we embrace our individual cultural identities within our unique Australian communities. ”When We Are”, features Australian voices collected as part of the MOMENTUM II Commission Award with support by the Australian Music Centre and Cinque Artist Management. Spoken words participants were asked to reflect on a series of questions on identity and culture.
