Event Details
For Avant Gardens we head into the backyards and backrooms of our very own musicians’ homes to make some noise. Join us for this intimate concert experience featuring unusual line ups, much loved ‘avant garde’ classics and experimental music never heard before. Trussed features our stunning cellist Blair Harris alongside our Artistic Director and 2021 Hatched Associate Artist in an array of works by iconic female composers Caroline Shaw, Kaija Saariaho and Karen Tanaka, a flower-pot classic by Frederic Rzewski and works celebrating low strings by Luke Styles and Alfred Schittke. Be touched by a meaningful musical experience in four homes around Sydney brought to you by the ever-creative musicians of Ensemble Offspring during Australia’s COVID concert hall recovery. Depending on demand, each program will be repeated twice. This concert will be presented at a home in Tempe.
