Event Details

First formal concert on the completed Bathurst War Memorial Carillon will take place on 20 March, featuring Bathurst and Carillon Society of Australia Carillionists. 

As part of this event, Grace Chan will perform a poignant carillon arrangement of Australian composer F. S. Kelly’s (1881-1916) Elegy for Strings and Harp (1915). Kelly wrote this moving work for his friend, poet Rupert Brooke, who died enroute to Gallipoli.

Vikki Jacobsen will perform her own carillon arrangement of “Down Longford Way” by Australian composer Katharine Parker - a student of Percy Grainger.
