Event Details
Australian Composers have always been at the forefront of The Grainger Wind Symphony's programming. After a public call for scores, we are excited to present to you current living Australian composers forging their unique paths through the wind band medium.
Join us as we continue our culture of discovering, workshopping, and premiering new Australian works for band. You will hear music by living Australians:
-Dylan Hughes
-Andrew Heuzenroeder
-Peter Chaplin
-David Keeffe
We will also present their music alongside works by Percy Grainger—in the spirit of Australian works for band, and Leonard Bernstein—in the spirit of championing new local music and in celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Featured non-Australian music: Leonard Bernstein
