Event Details
Black Tulip
Black Tulip is a new Sydney-based band led by Dutch pianist Casper Tromp. The band explores the borders of jazz and classical music. Expect an adventurous concert with the warm sounds of film music, interesting dissonances of modern classical and the improvisation and energy that comes with jazz.
Casper Tromp (piano) Evan Harris (tenor and soprano saxophone) James Heazlewood Dale (bass) Alex Hirlian (drums)
Andy Gander Trio
Since his return to our shores a couple of years ago, Andrew Gander’s energy, virtuosity and mind-bending musicality have caused the Australian Jazz community to fall in love with him all over again. Bassist Brett Hirst and pianist Greg Coffin round out this unbelievable trio, which will play freely on some angular standards, along with some of Andy's and Greg's originals and other rhythmic vehicles designed to propagate polyrhythmic individuality. Improvised music of the highest order.
Greg Coffin (piano) Brett Hirst (bass) Andy Gander (drums)
