Event Details
This month the Orchestra will more than triple in size to deliver the exhilarating and dramatic finale to our 2019 National Season: Brahms & Dvořák.
ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti and ACO Principal Cello Timo-Veikko Valve join forces to present Brahms’s infinitely brilliant Double Concerto, before a performance of Dvořák’s sublime Symphony No.8 on their magnificent Golden Age instruments.
The world premiere of Australian composer Andrew Ford’s Fanfare for Neverland opens the concert, followed by the Australian premiere of US composer Andrew Norman’s Gran Turismo: a flamboyant, motoric work for eight virtuoso violinists that drew inspiration from high-speed car racing.
Don’t miss your chance to see the ACO in glorious symphonic form as they perform two of the late 19th-century’s greatest orchestral masterworks this November
Featured non-Australian music: Norman, Brahms, Dvořak
