Ensemble Liaison celebrates the conviviality of chamber music playing, combining inventive programs with a lively and engaging performance style. Formed in Melbourne in 2006, it has rapidly become a favourite of audiences and critics alike.
This exciting program celebrates Brahms’ late musical reawakening. Inspired by the playing of clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld, he stepped out of retirement to compose his Clarinet Trio in A minor op.114.
This profound and moving work remains the ultimate expression of this combination of instruments. Ensemble Liaison performs it alongside de Falla’s Six Popular Songs, expressing the unique sounds of Spain, and two of the most popular arrangements of Australia’s own Percy Grainger.
