Event Details
Brisbane Chamber Choir, directed by Dr Graeme Morton, succumb to the wandering spirit as music of Australia and Singapore intertwine in this unique concert. Hear Australian composers Joseph Twist and Paul-Antoni Bonetti alongside emerging singaporean composers. The concert features 'The Old Prison' by Joseph Twist and 'Requiem' by Paul-Antoni Bonetti. These works were commissioned by Brisbane Chamber Choir in 2009 to celebrate the sesquicentenary (150th anniversary) of the establishment of the Colony of Queensland which later became the State of Queensland. Other works by singaporean composers include 'Wayfaring' by Chung Ee Yong and 'Candles for a Local Osiris' by Lim Han Quan. With special guest conductor Dr Shahril Salleh this mix of musical ideas is sure to inspire.
Featured non-Australian music: To Tigerland / Rebecca Tan -- Still I Fly / Ong Lin Wei -- Man in the Mirror /Charlene Cloud Tan -- Whenever the night / Lim Han Quan -- Wayfaring / Chung Ee Yong.
