Llewellyn 2 is an evening of refined elegance with Guest Conductor Andrew Mogrelia making a welcome return to the CSO stage. Associate Principal Oboe of the Sydney Symphony and winner of the Symphony Australia Young Performer Awards, Shefali Prior showcases the intimate and beautiful Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss, a gorgeously lyrical work that makes great virtuosic demands on the soloist. George Palmer's intoxicating dances for orchestra overflow with energy and melodic appeal before the program's joyful conclusion with Beethoven's triumphant First Symphony.
