Christmas is known as the time of the year when family and friends come together in the spirit of togetherness, acceptance and love. Unfortunately, for many in the Diverse Gender and Sexuality (DGS) community this is far from reality. Discrimination and a lack of understanding leaves many in OUR community feeling disconnected with family and from Christmas itself. ‘Carols by Queerlight’ (CBQ) is an unashamed celebration of the wider DGS family. Our message is simply that anyone is welcome to come and celebrate Christmas with us; you are respected and loved. CBQ is a very successful event produced by MGLC and MRB and is always sold out. This confirms the need for such a DGS-centric community event at this significant time of the year. The event has this year moved to St Kilda Town Hall in an effort to fit even more people. The City of Port Phillip has always supported the DGS community and we are very grateful for the opportunity to make rainbow Christmas magic in that incredible space. Tiered ticketing and family group discount available.
