Event Details

In their second concert of the season, Joe Chindamo and Zoë Black perform the world premiere of Chindamo’s Love Tokens.

This concert celebrates the unbreakable bonds we create throughout our lives, often despite the tyranny of distance and time. Love tokens are the gateways to our past and a reminder of those who have touched us most deeply.

The Australian Research Centre (ARC) of Excellence for the History of Emotions are supporting this concert and invites members of the public and attendees of the concert to bring along small portable objects of remembrance related to love and war and share its story in an informal one to one recorded interview prior to the concert. There will also be photography. With your consent, this archive will become part an Objects and Emotions project convened by the Centre for the History of Emotions, available to the public on historyofemotions.org.au

So please come with your special memento on Thursday 12 November – Joe Chindamo, Zoë Black and The ARC of Excellence for the History of Emotions would love to hear about what and why it is important to you. Simply email che-melb-admin@unimelb.edu.au to notify ahead of the concert or alternatively you can arrive at Melbourne Recital Centre between 4.30 and 5.45pm. The interviews will take place in the Backstage Meeting Room. Enter via the Stage Door (off Sturt Street) or seek assistance from a member of staff at the entrance to the Salon.
