Event Details
One of the most charismatic of the contemporary roll call of Finnish composers, Lotta Wennäkoski has written Jong for a juggler and chamber orchestra. Jong is blend of circus and contemporary classical, and will feature Cirko Festival’s featured artist, juggler Sakari Männistö, as a soloist.
Handspun was commissioned by the Royal Opera House, London for the cello and a rope. Composed by Luke Styles, this performance marks the piece’s first outing in Finland.
Making a double appearance at the concert as both conductor and guest soloist is the hugely talented Thomas Djupsjöbacka.
