Event Details
Beneath the beautiful 24-branch candelabrum of Apothecaries’ Hall, the City’s oldest surviving livery hall, two of Australia’s finest musicians, didgeridu master William Barton and pianist Piers Lane, offer an amazing collaboration which will surprise and delight in equal measure.
Beethoven’s Bagatelles are followed by David Lumsdaine’s six short Postcard Pieces which they inspired; Brett Dean and Elena Kats-Chernin pay individual homage to JS Bach, followed by Percy Grainger’s brilliant versions of well-known works by Bach, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Strauss and Tchaikovsky.
