Liquid Architecture 10: Festival of Sound Arts is a landmark occasion for the festival and for sound culture in Australia. Celebrating its tenth consecutive year, the Liquid Architecture sound festival runs for four weeks and goes to seven cities across Australia, presenting an exciting program of contemporary sound arts.
The Perth event features Swiss sound and visual artist Jason Kahn, German trio Perlonex ('somewhere in the no man’s land between electro-acoustic, industrial noise, ambient, minimal') and Brisbane electroacoustic artist Joel Stern.
Since 1998, Joel Stern has made electroacoustic compositions and free improvisations using field recordings, contact microphones, a sonic raygun, a baby moniter, trumpet, silent brass, found objects, a gong, processing, feedback, rocks, keys, strobe lights, pedals, taisho-goto, slide guitar, mbira's and kalimba's, trumpet, gecko, string and instruments and processes too obscure to ention.
