Come Hither Noise : an exhibition of sound work

  • Date: Thursday, 10 September 2009 to Sunday, 20 September 2009, exhibition daily until 20 September
  • Venue: Fremantle Arts Centre — 1 Finnerty St, Fremantle, WA

Event Details

Come Hither Noise - an exhibition of sound work is presented as part of the 9th Totally Huge New Music Festival, in association with Tura New Music. Artists involved are Mark Brown, John Conomos, Richard Crow, Ross Manning, Thomas Meadowcroft, Elvis Richardson, Sam Smith, Sriwhana Spong. Curator: Jasmin Stephens

Come Hither Noise presents a range of contemporary approaches to sound, music and noise. With an emphasis on heightening perception of one's own senses, the works explore the relationship between the aural, visual and spatial, with some works highlighting an underlying connection between sound and colour.

An installation sampling a V2 Series Holden Monaro Engine stands alongside self-playing percussive and tonal instruments; an animated relic of Fremantle's industrial heritage; and a television test pattern with a mind of its own.
