Cross/Smith/Barry/McCoullough (8PM) In the early part of 2012 after much time travelling abroad, Melbourne based drummer Aaron McCoullough recorded his debut album as a leader entitled Portrait of Thoughts. This performance for Jazzgroove will include material from the album and will see McCoullough reunite with some long time collaborators. Steve Barry Trio (9.30PM) Winner of the 2013 Bell Award for Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year, Steve Barry released his debut album in late 2012 to high critical acclaim. Joined by musical comrades Alex Boneham and Tim Firth, his trio explores a wide range of musical territory with a unique fluidity and rapport.
