Having been part of the great New York jazz scene, most noteworthy for his work with Sonny Stitt, Art Blakey, Billy Cobham, Dizzy Gillespie and Richie Cole, Dale is now based in Sydney and continues to work here and abroad as a band leader, soloist and recording artist.
Between regular gigs with Australia’s own jazz legends, Bernie McGann, Vince Jones and Paul Grabowsky, Barlow is still in demand internationally. He has recently toured with Matt Finish, played with George Coleman Junior around Asia and shared the stage with John Prior. Tonight, he is joined by some of Sydney’s leading voices in jazz in quintet mode, playing music in the innovative and adept style he is renowned for in the intimate, informal jazz club that is The Sound Lounge.
