Event Details
Rachael Dease discusses 4 Part History, her quadraphonic sound installation created for Winthrop Hall Foyer.
In 4 Part History, each traditional string quartet instrument is allotted a series of musical fragments that mirror the structure and design within the foyer
Electronically manipulated, they embrace the reflective nature of the space while retaining the concise power of which this ensemble has been capable for centuries.
4 Part History forms part of Dialogues with Landscape project. To commemorate The University of Western Australia's centenary, seven artists have been commissioned to create immersive real and virtual environments across the campus – incorporating sound, sculpture, installation and performance.
In Dialogues with Landscape, visitors can journey around familiar sites as landscapes, histories and the present are reinvigorated through dynamic contemporary arts practices. Dialogues with Landscape offers creative works to watch, meander through, activate and enjoy.
The program is presented by PIAF and the UWA Cultural Precinct.
