New York new music duo on their debut Australian tour! Elephant in the Room Productions presents: panSonus! Comprised of New York-based musicians Jon Clancy (Westfield, NJ) and Amber Evans (Brisbane, AUS), panSonus is an interdisciplinary duo that seeks to promote and collaborate in the creation of new and experimental works for combinations of voice, percussion, theatre, and electronics, that transcend their respective traditional practices. Through their work, the duo curates uniquely engaging and visceral performance experiences that heighten awareness of corporeal, spacial, and material resonance, and advocates for thoughtful, inclusive, and conceptual programming practices. This concert is part of the duo's inaugural Australia tour, with concerts and residencies in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane throughout August 2019, presenting a concert of premieres by US, Australian and NZ composers plus two newly commissioned works by Australian composer Jakob Bragg and US composer Vasily Ratmansky.
Featured non-Australian music: Jessie Marino: Rot Blau; Jessie Marino: Endless Shrimp; Vasily Ratmansky: ('new work'); Zak Argabrite: Itchy; Annea Lockwood: Amazonia Dreaming; Stuart Saunders Smith: Breath.
