Event Details

Sensational composer, double bassist and vocalist Linda May Han Oh returns to Perth Festival with Ephemeral Echoes. This beautiful new creation is broken up into several movements each focussing on the ephemeral, transient nature of things. With a movement which tracks the fleeting life of the firefly; another which examines the ephemeral nature of everyday objects, such as smartphones, that are intentionally designed to not last long and go obsolete; one explores the stages of motherhood and childbirth; and a forth reflects on Linda's experience of witnessing the Aurora Borealis in Reykjavik in 2018. Commissioned by Finding Our Voice, a nation-wide celebration of Australia in sound curated by Genevieve Lacey, Ephemeral Echoes features Linda May Han Oh (double bass and vocals), Fabian Almazan (piano and effects), Steve Richter (percussion), Iain Robbie (percussion), Genevieve Wilkins (percussion) and Ben Vanderwal (drums) and lighting designer Lucy Birkinshaw.
