Event Details

Join us for the Queensland Youth Orchestras Chamber Orchestra concert premiering 12 new Fanfares by young composers plus a new work by Christopher Sainsbury on Wednesday 29 September, 7.30-8.00pm.

Fanfare Competition, now in its eighth year, is open to young people aged 12-21 to extend their composition skills and have their piece workshopped and performed at a special concert event. The concert, in partnership with the Queensland Youth Orchestras, and conducted by Rachel Howley, is the first opportunity to recognise the incredible 2021 compositions.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity to be involved with Fanfare this year. I’ve learnt so much, particularly around the guidelines involved with preparing a score and its parts for musicians. I’ve already had to put these skills into action for a wind symphony I’ve recently composed,” says Jonathan Platz (Age 13, Qld).

To register to attend the concert, please contact Philippa on (02) 8007 7322 or philippa@artology.org.au by Monday 27 September. Places in the concert hall are strictly limited, RSVP essential.
