Event Details
In this year’s Portrait series, producer Adam Simmons performs with a range of outstanding artists presenting a mix of composed and improvised music. Now in its third year this exciting series expands to the Melbourne Recital Centre. Adam Simmons (saxophones, clarinets, flutes, shakuhachi, fujara, toys) hailing from Ballarat, is a composer, instrumentalist and visual artist involved across many different scenes in Melbourne and beyond.
Erik Griswold and Vanessa Tomlinson find between virtuosic techniques and the sense of play and humour they both display in their performance. They will perform Time Crystals - new music with a sense of adventure using prepared piano, percussion, found objects and toys, all with their trademark ‘warped grooves’ and evocative soundscapes.
