Event Details

Flayed Identities is new Australian work combining music, narration and images taking place on and around the water at Lake Bolac during the Eel Festival. Based on research by elder Ted Lovett, Flayed Identities honours the returned Indigenous servicemen and women in commemoration of the First World War centenary. Performed at twilight, the work promises a unique opportunity to watch and hear artists collaborating on historical and contemporary themes in spectacular surroundings.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.

Performers: Ted Lovett - Gunditjmara elder and storyteller, Kim Lajoie - sound artist, Tristram Williams and Paul Williamson - trumpet, Tiriki Onus - bass-baritone, Peter Dumsday - piano.
Community choir led by Jeanette Hajncl
Rozalind Drummond - image creator
