Forenzics headline at the Gladstone Hotel in Chippendale
Forenzics are a musical collective playing experimental improvised music with soundscape, ambient, minimalist, noise, psych, drone, art-rock, post-rock, and even post-punk leanings. They have a very simple philosophy: play what you feel without limits and boundaries, only that it must be created there and then with no restrictions on genre, texture, format or structure.
The two guitarists will be joined by on stage by regular collaborator Joe Cummins (the Splinter Orchestra) on trumpet/kaoss, and Aemon Webb (Nhomeas, Varlets) on drums.
Forenzics have released two albums, H3O (2009) and Static and Silence (2010), and are currently working on their third release, which is as yet untitled. They also appear on two compilations: Droning Earth Vol.26 and Art Groupie 2008.
"...Headlining with trumpet was Forenzics; precision drumming and two guitars, one mostly played with a metal bus sign, the other saturated with effects. This four-piece was something beyond soundscape and more in the direction of early Mogwai baiting Oren Ambarchi and Battles. One could almost sense John Zorn astral-travelling around this show, with a broad but crooked metaphysical smile." (Christopher Lapa - UNSW Blitz Magazine)
