Event Details

HiberNATION Festival presents three online events featuring Ensemble Offspring, the music box project. and Konzertprojekt - a day packed full of exploratory music-making as part of Make Music Day Australia. #festivalofthelofi #makemusicday #ensembleoffspring

11:00AM - 4:00PM.  Join the music box project. whilst they play, explore and sonically activate Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour - a 6 hour live-streaming event with music made from maps, sonic scavenger hunts, notes on isolation, adventuring sound keepers/seekers, droning chase sequences, live drawing/scoring and more. Each artist will be wearing a camera for online audiences to choose their view, mix, match and experience this curiously noisy picnic at home. A combined feed of all cameras can be viewed online at the Hibernation Festival website: https://www.hibernationfestival.com/sound-game-picnic

6:00PM - 7:00PM.  Ensemble Offspring: Care Packages - Mystery Australian composers from around the world are currently preparing musical care packages to say Happy Birthday to Ensemble Offspring. They are about to send them to the core members of Ensemble Offspring, Claire, Blair, Jason, Lamorna, Zubin (all the way from London), Veronique, Bree and Freya plus their trusty guide for the evening, Roland Peelman. They will open their very own musical care package for the first time live on stream and will then perform the contents. YOU become the conductor, in a kind of sonic choose your own adventure, switching the windows on and off to create your own version of this curious sound happening.

10:00PM - 11:00PM.  Konzertprojekt: Sketchy Audio - Join composer collective Konzertprojekt as they create and perform to live-drawn graphic scores with input by you! In addition, experience the joy of long-distance, internet-delayed ensemble asynchronicity as they perform together using zoom.
