Sydney, immerse yourself in Ensemble Offspring’s micro festival of new sounds from around the world – an expedition of invention from Berlin to Sydney and New York to Perth. Make a racket, interface with our artists and experience the world of living music; sinuous, sculptural and sizzling sounds.

The weekend features three different concerts, mixing world premieres with new music classics, a discussion with leading artists working in Australia and overseas, as well as an industry speed dating session where you can meet one-on-one with leaders in the field. Join us between events for a casual drink in Alexandria’s hidden warehouse gem, Nest Creative Space.

SPECIAL EVENT 2 INDUSTRY PANEL “AN AUSTRALIAN VOICE”

SUNDAY 1:30pm

Panel: Claire Edwardes (artistic director, percussion – Sydney), Bec Dean (curator – Sydney), Peter Knight (artistic director, composer, trumpet – Melbourne), Juan Felipe Waller (composer – Berlin), Zubin Kanga (pianist – London).

The concept of an Australian “voice” is often a theme in discussing new music at home, but how does this play out in an increasingly global music scene? Leading musicians active in Australia and Europe talk about their experiences as international artists and global citizens, as well as the importance of creating a broad and collaborative context for new art making worldwide.
