Event Details
Melbourne pianist/composer Gemma Turvey leads her exciting chamber ensemble the New Palm Court Orchestra on tour to Sydney and Canberra at the end of April, including their premiere Sydney performance at the Utzon Room at the Sydney Opera House. Fresh from launching their new album Landscapes for a Mind’s Eye, these concerts will feature music from their new CD, as composed by the NPCO’s Artistic Director, pianist/composer Gemma Turvey.
Gemma founded the New Palm Court Orchestra in 2011 as a vehicle to perform her compositions for larger ensemble. The NPCO is a natural extension of Gemma's jazz piano trio work, bringing to life the evocative, cinematic qualities inherent in her music.
