A Capital Jazz Project presents The Lawrence Ku Trio. Be swept away by gentle jazz guitar, smooth drumming, and keyboard soundscapes; music steeped in tradition but always pushing and exploring new creative territory. Guitarist/Composer Lawrence Ku a native of Los Angeles California has been based in China since 1997 Beijing and is now in Shanghai. The trio perform music from Ku's recently completed Pictures Suite. That collection of compositions represents musical stills of Shanghai, from its densely packed streets of pedestrian chaos and the quiet tree-lined lanes of the old French Concession, to its pulsing and frantic night life.
