Leonie Cohen, one of Australia’s foremost jazz pianists and composers returns to VJ’s to perform with Hugh Fraser on double bass and Toby Hall on drums. The trio will present a night of jazz combining familiar pieces and original compositions that will move, entertain and inspire. The trio will play interpretations of Leonie’s favourite Jewish pieces and an array of originals inspired by people and moments that have had an emotional impact. Leonie will also be playing some new pieces too, including material she is working on for a production of The Diary of Anne Frank( to be staged next year).Leonie recorded her debut CD Jerusalem commissioned by the ABC in 2005. She released her second album Sideshow Pony in 2011.
