Event Details

UQ’s own composer and pianist Catherine Likhuta and Brisbane-based saxophone virtuoso Emma Di Marco join forces, bringing you this recital of Catherine’s music for saxophone and piano. Internationally acclaimed, Catherine’s saxophone works combine raw emotions, high virtuosity and rhythmic complexity, all while being hailed as immediately engaging. This UQ performance serves as the launch of the 18-months long project, which will involve a commercial CD release, touring of regional Qld, Australia and Europe, and a culmination performance at the World Saxophone Congress in 2018. With a special guest Brijette Tubb on flute, this is a dynamic and energizing concert not to be missed.
