The Luke Howard Trio will play tunes from their last album, 'A Dove, A Lion, A Coast, A Pirate', recorded in Oslo with renowned engineer Jan Erik Kongshaug, as well as their forthcoming album ‘The Electric Night Descends’.
With drummer Daniel Farrugia and bassist Jonathan Zion, their minimalist aesthetic blends elements of improvised and popular music.
The trio's first album The Meadowlands (2010) was well received. Howard was a finalist in the 2001 and 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano competitions and won the 2012 'Bell' Australian Jazz Award for Jazz Composition of the Year. His second solo album, Two Places, was released in April 2016.
