Adelaide’s favourite musical freaks, Marmalade Circus are getting ready to blow audiences away with their infectious brand of groove at the upcoming launch of their new album YUP – and other words of affirmation. Part jazz, part world music, part killer-groove machine; Marmalade Circus, led by the incomparable Mark Simeon Ferguson, is a 10-piece band comprising South Australia’s leading creative musicians.
'Ringmaster' Ferguson is a previous Wangaratta semi-finalist and highly respected pianist, composer and bandleader in Australia. His original compositions for Marmalade Circus artfully blend 'big horn' big band sounds with sophisticated yet catchy melodies, inspired by Latin, African and Arabic music. Marmalade Circus brings together a fabulous collection of talent onstage: a monstrous horn section featuring Chris Soole, Adam Page, Jon Hunt, Pat Thiele, Warren Heading and Nick Mulder is joined by one of Australia’s finest rhythm sections consisting of Mark Ferguson, Shireen Khemlani and Ben and Steve Todd.
