World-class local pianist and composer, Barney McAll, premieres Trilogy of Cycles at Birrarung Marr’s Federation Bells.
Commissioned by the City of Melbourne for its premiere at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the composition will feature live interactive improvisation with the bells, an ensemble of musicians and McAll masterfully leading the interplay on keyboards and his self-made instrument “Chucky” (various music boxes, glockenspiel, kalimba and electronics), creating an unforgettably ethereal soundscape on the banks of the Yarra River.
