A collaboration between the Australian Art Orchestra and the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, presented by the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Pianist, composer and founding Artistic Director of the AAO, Paul Grabowsky brings together leading Monash University School of Music students and Australian Art Orchestra musicians to form a dynamic new ensemble of 21st century musicians, the Monash Art Ensemble (MAE).
This performance for the Melbourne Jazz Festival sees the premiere of new works and arrangements by special guest, double bass player Mark Helias, Grabowsky, and trumpeter/composer Eugene Ball. It is the next step in what will be a long and fruitful collaboration for one of Australia’s most exciting ensembles.
